Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Scott Garrison has been a full-time family physician in Richmond, BC since Jan 1995. Outside of his private practice he is also the President of the Medical Staff for Richmond Hospital, a member of the Primary Care Council for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and a PhD candidate in the UBC Dept of Experimental Medicine. Scott has served on 3 GPAC working groups – creating the BC provincial guidelines for cardiovascular risk reduction, management of hypertension and management / prevention of stroke. He has also served on the BC Drug Benefit Committee (which makes recommendations regarding the benefit status of drugs on the provincial formulary) and has been the BCMA delegate to the Therapeutics Initiative. His current research focuses on gaining better etiologic understanding of, and better treatments for, nocturnal leg cramps.
