Patricia Boston

Biography

Patricia Boston is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Practice at the University of British Columbia and has been a faculty member since 2003. She was the Director of the UBC Division of Palliative Care from 2003-2012 and Associate Director of The McGill Programs in Whole Person Care from 1998-2003. Dr Boston completed her PhD at McGill University, her undergraduate studies at Concordia University and nursing training at The Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford as well as The State University of New York. Her research interests include palliative medicine, grief and bereavement, qualitative research methodologies, narrative medicine and psycho- social issues. Dr Boston’s publications are primarily in the areas of palliative care and qualitative research. She is current co-author for the second edition of a textbook on case narratives in palliative care for publication by Oxford University Press in 2021.
